BACKGROUND

About Ryan

Ryan was raised in rural Utah and being with his family in the mountains is a passion of his. Ryan skis, side by sides, and hikes often in his spare time.    

Ryan graduated from The University of Utah where he received his Bachelor's in Social Work with an emphasis in substance use disorder treatment and child welfare systems. Ryan continued his education at Boise State University where he received his Master's in Social Work. Ryan found a passion in studying evidence based eye movement therapies, parts work, (derived from IFS- internal family systems) and attachment theory to best help individuals overcome their symptoms from abuse, trauma, bipolar disorder and dissociative identity disorders. 

He started his career working in local residential treatment homes for youth. Ryan later transitioned to serve in government administered roles, and worked as an EMDR trauma therapist, helping adults and children overcome challenges related to anxiety, depression, dissociative symptoms and marital/family challenges.

Ryan's mental health services have helped many individuals successfully address mental and behavioral health issues by providing them with evidence based, comfortable, and transparent mental health care. Some of the modalities he may utilize are Eye Movement Reprocessing and Desensitization (EMDR), Brainspotting, EFT, IFS informed interventions, CBT and support through providing DBT skills.     Ryan is EMDRIA certified and is a EMDR consultant in training.
